Lock Down News for April

by Clevedon FWAC on

There has been lots of activity on the angling front this month.

We were alerted to incidents of illegal fishing on the Land and Blind Yeo Rivers in the middle of the month. A poacher had been setting dead lines with artificial bait and corn using big hooks and braid, empty plastic milk cartons were used as markers. They were first discovered after a dog got entangled in them, thankfully the animal was not hurt. After contacting witnesses we were able to provide the Environment Agency Enforcement Team with a photograph of the offender, an address, his car registration and photographs of the dead lines plus names of two witnesses. Brilliant.

Some news has also started to filter through concerning proposals to commence fishing again while keeping within Government Guidelines. Check out the Angling Trust Website for more information.

Finally some really sad news …Veals Fishing Tackle in Bristol has closed their shop in Old Market, at the moment they are still running an On Line Shop.

Lock Down

How’s it going everyone during Lock Down? personally I am almost running out of jobs and missing my fishing but I would rather stay safe and follow the Government Guidelines, the fish will be still there when we defeat this virus.
For those of you who are not aware I write a regular Fishing Blog, I started doing this in 2012. If you want a few fishing stories you will find plenty at http://ivansangle.blogspot.com
Down the right hand side you can filter by venue and year.
