CFWAC Members its nearly that time ……
General
The River Kenn has been on great form of late due to an influx of loads of roach and skimmers. Where they have been for the last few years no one knows but they are welcome.
With the arrival of these fish the predators are also around and lure anglers have had some great sport.
Check out the Photo Gallery for evidence .

Thank you to all the anglers, tackle shops, the Blue Flame Pub, H & H Burgers Clevedon and Tesco Clevedon who supported the clubs annual Charity Match.
We raised a magnificent £1045 which was donated to the Bristol Area Kidney Patients Association.
Below is a photo of Grant Law handing over the cheque.
Just a note to remind members that the pegs above and below Strode Rd are closed for the annual charity match.
The pegs will be free after 16:00.
Our Annual Charity Match will take place on the above date.
Pegs 1 to 40 will be closed to pleasure anglers.
If you would like to take part please book in as soon as possible.
Well what can I say, its been a brilliant start to the new River Season on the Kenn. We have worked hard to prepare the pegs from 1 to 40 and the feedback has been very positive, maintenance will continue as necessary to keep the high standards.
From Kenn Rd upstream the weed is too much for us to manage but on the positive side it provides fantastic fish habitat.
It has been nice to see some newcomers on the banks as well as some old faces returning.
There have been lot of catch reports with photographs coming in and they are much appreciated.
Bream approaching 9lbs, tench over 7lbs and 2lb plus perch have been caught. In our first match of the season conditions were very difficult with strong winds and gin clear water but it was nice to see some small skimmers and roach being caught. Check out the photo gallery.
Some dates coming up for your diary ……..
Sunday 10th July – Club Match River Kenn
Saturday 23rd July – Dave Fowler Memorial Charity Open River Kenn
To book in for any of the above contact Rob Fogg on 07837 593007

THE RIVER KENN IS NOW CLOSED FOR FISHING UNTIL 16TH JUNE.
It has been a busy season for the Club on the River Kenn.Between March and June last year we installed nearly 40 fishing stations after levelling the bank.
We carried out major tree surgery as well as pruning, reed cutting, mowing and clearing weed. We will soon be on the bank again doing maintenance and getting everything in order for 16th June.
2 big Charity Matches were organised and held on the river which also attracted England International Des Shipp.
During the winter the level of the Kenn was kept slighly higher than normal between Dec and March after negotiating with the Environment Agency.
There have been some notable catches reported along with photographs…….
Bream 8lb plus, Tench 6lb plus, Roach 3lb plus as well as several over 2lbs, Perch 3lb plus, Hybrid 4lb plus, Chub up to 5lbs, Double figure Pike, Rainbow trout up to 4lbs (escapee’s).
The Officers and Committee have met regularly and continue to invest in the river for the benefit of all members. None of the Officers or Committee expect or receive any honararium.
We have decided to increase a couple of the Membership categories from 1st April. Adult Full Season from £20 to £25, Senior Citizen Full Season no change remaining at £15, Disabled Full Season no change at £15, Junior Full Season remains Free. Day Ticket increases from £5 to £6. This is the first increase for many years and we believe still offers good value.
