Clevedon Freshwater Angling Club held their second of two matches on 13th May against anglers representing Shiplate Farm Fishery near Bleadon just outside Weston Super Mare. In the three years the annual two leg competition has been running the Shiplate Farm Team have always been victorious. The match was held on Woodland Lake at the Trinity Waters Fishery near Bridgwater and the Clevedon Team put a strong squad together in order to achieve their first victory. Nick Harvey representing Clevedon put in a strong performance netting 115lb 12oz of carp to win the match overall. Nick was on peg 14 and fished the pole with corn on the hook over loose fed pellets down both of his margins and caught steady all day. Shiplate Farm anglers Dom Sullivan and Rich Hawkins filled second and third spots with 73lb 10oz and 70lb. At the end of the match the total team weights were Shiplate Farm 305lb, Clevedon 325lb. Clevedon Team Captain Adie Baker caught the biggest fish, a magnificent 15lb Common Carp.
