Club Rules and Byelaws
- EA & Licensing
- Anglers are required to comply with Environment Agency byelaws and with the restrictions and conditions laid down for fishing club waters. Any angler failing to comply with these conditions will be required to leave the water and may result in a total ban on fishing club waters.
- No fishing is permitted on club rivers between 15th March and 15th June inclusive.
- Proof of membership / day ticket must be produced when requested by any club committee member / bailiff, or any other club member when fishing club waters.
- Junior anglers under the age of 18 years may obtain a free permit via the website and must produce proof of age if requested when fishing club waters.
- No permits will be sold on the bank. You MUST be in possession of a club membership / day ticket BEFORE commencement of fishing.
- Purchase of a membership or day ticket is deemed as acceptance and agreement of all the rules and conditions contained herein.
- Equipment & Bait
- The only method of fishing allowed is by fair rod and line or pole.
- Anglers must not use more than two rods at any one time.
- No rod or pole to be left unattended with baited hook in water.
- Keep nets are permitted, but must be of carp friendly material and should be Angling Foundation approved. All nets MUST be dry before use.
- The use of braided line is strictly prohibited on all club waters.
- The use of any fish for live or dead bait is strictly prohibited on club waters.
- Location & Environment
- Fishing is permitted from designated pegs only.
- Dogs, firearms and radios are strictly prohibited on all club waters.
- Anglers must not damage fences, mow / cut grass or other crops, banks or property near the water, nor trespass on adjoining land, and are required to prevent as far as possible, such damage being done by other persons.
- Access to club waters is only by approved entrance points. Any angler found gaining access by breaking down fences or hedges may be expelled immediately. All gates must be closed upon entering and leaving the waters.
- Fishing is prohibited from any bridge or construction on club waters.
- No camping or lighting of fires allowed. No boating or bathing permitted, no night fishing allowed.
- No fish of any species to be introduced or removed from any club water.
- Matches
- When matches approved by the club are held, it is the responsibility of all permit holders to ensure they do not fish closed sections.
- Only matches approved by the club are permitted on club waters. Any permit holder found to be fishing non-approved matches is liable to expulsion from the water.

- Health & Safety
- Anglers fishing in club waters do so entirely at their own risk. No liability whatsoever can be accepted by the club.
- For health & safety and insurance purposes, only persons with written permission from the management committee are allowed to carry out work on any club waters.
- In the interest of safety, the possession of any pole or other equipment manufactured of carbon or any other conductive material within 30 metres of high voltage cables or any other source of electric power is absolutely prohibited.
